Malaga, Spain-My Favorite finds-Ronda and Marbella!

The spectacular views of Ronda and Marbella, located in Malaga Spain are two of my favorite places to explore.

Ronda, Malaga, Spain

I just love sharing my favorite finds with you! Ronda is definitely at the top of my list. A mountain city located in the north western part of the Malaga province, it’s 739 meters over sea level and encapsulated by mountains. There are countless visitors who come to witness the panoramic beauty of Ronda; situated on both sides of the deep gorge of the river Guadalevin, it gives the illusion of entering another world altogether as you arrive at the mountaintop. At once quaint and beautiful, it is also home to many historic buildings.

American artists Ernest Hemingway and Orson Welles spent many summers in Ronda as part-time residents of Ronda’s old town quarter called La Ciudad. Both wrote about Ronda’s beauty and famous bull-fighting traditions. Their collective accounts have contributed to Ronda’s popularity over time.

Go just a little further and you’ll find Marbella. Known to some as Antonio Banderas’ birthplace, Marbella is famous for its well tended sights and exclusive ambiance, both of which are perpetuated by fabulous parks, beaches and landscaping.  With a particularly scenic coastline and many top tourist attractions, Marbella is one of the Costa del Sol’s most popular tourist resorts. Apart from Marbella’s many sandy beaches and large selection of water sports, other notable tourist attractions in Marbella include cruises around the José Banús Port (Puerto Deportivo José Banús), and a scenic coastal boardwalk known locally as the Paseo Maritimo.

Sandwiched between the mountains and Mediterranean Sea is one of my favorite resorts, the Melia La Quinta Golf & Spa Resort. From one side you can see the mountain region; from the other, the Mediterraean Sea.
